Job Summary
The Senior Data Analytics Strategist is a leader and subject matter expert for data and analytics and is responsible for delivering data analytics focused transformation projects as part of the Service Transformation team. The Strategist combines technical expertise and a strategic mindset to creatively plan and solve business problems for clients, and ensures technical solutions meet defined business needs.
The Strategist establishes the data analytics vision and business needs, leads and works on project teams to deliver the vision, and ensures innovative approaches, methods and tools are applied to deliver business value to clients.
The job requires a combination of technical business intelligence and analytics expertise; business acumen; a strategic mindset; client relationship management skills; project management knowledge; and a passion for enhancing the client experience.
The job requires analysis of confidential information including employee and financial data and may require the Strategist to make recommendations and implement decisions on behalf of senior management that impact operational efficiency, structure and budget.
Education & Experience
4 year University degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 8 years of experience working with data and/or quantitative analysis in a data collection, statistical, analytical and performance measurement function, including demonstrated experience as a technical leader and subject matter expert on a skilled team of analytics professionals
*Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
Language, Certificates & Licenses
English oral, reading, writing required.

Business intelligence and data visualization software and techniques

Survey techniques and methodologies

Working in a political environment an asset
Strategic planning and related performance reporting tools and practices an asset
Capital and operating budget processes an asset
Must be familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures
